VE Commercial Vehicles Limited is a 50:50 JV since the July of 2008, between the German Volvo Group and Eicher Motors Limited and has its headquaters in the country's capital, New Delhi. They manufacture quality trucks, and are currently one of the global leaders in terms of technology, quality, safety and environmental concern. VECV has a complete range of trucks in the Indian market and Eicher Trucks and Buses completed 25 years of operation in India in the month of June of 2011 since the first truck they rolled out from their plant in Pithanpur in 1986 and have sold over 3,00,000 vehicles since then. Eicher has over 3000 employees across its various divisions in India like Eicher Trucks and Buses, Eicher Engineering Components and Eicher Engineering Solutions. ETB has had a strong presence in the Light and Heavy Duty segment and has a big share in the 5 ton to 12 ton trucks segment. It even has a strong presence in the 16 ton to 40 ton segment with their "VE" series of Fuel Efficient heavy-duty trucks. Volvo has been a big player in the international market and with the merger in 2008, they have their foothold in both the off-road trucking scene as well as the on-road truck scene in India.
